The inspiration for HT Zhimu stems from the designer's understanding of life's anxieties and the human desire for tranquility. Located in a bustling urban complex, the spa is designed as a "wind path leading to a quiet place," offering visitors a dual sensory experience to soothe their restless hearts. The design's unique properties lie in its 300-square-meter static pool, a testament to the designer's control over the project and the owner's trust in his vision. This "space sacrifice" has given the spa a unique tone and temperament.
The spa's realization involved the use of various materials, including marble paint, wood veneer, metal plate, stone, and mirror stainless steel. Covering a total of 3650 square meters, the project began in October 2020 in Changzhou and was completed in July 2021. The design team, led by Chief Designer Chuanjin Sun and assisted by Ming Li and Tian Zhang, worked diligently to bring this vision to life.
One of the key features of HT Zhimu is its interaction design. Before entering the main hall, visitors are greeted by a quiet path with a gurgling water wall that extends to the end of the road. The bluestone floor and the sound of water transport visitors away from the urban hustle and bustle. Above the pool's center is a massive circular water curtain landscape LED screen device, which reflects the stars and sea in the still water as night falls. The black and white stones at the pool's bottom, handpicked by the designer, refract in the water, creating an illusion of stars emerging from the water.
The design also faced several challenges. In the corridor leading to the reception area, an array of vertical screens with warm light diffusion was installed to complement the blue light of the central landscape area, providing visitors with a sense of ritual. The designer adhered to the design concept that geometric structure is the source of all designs, maximizing geometric composition in the entire space. The interior also integrates landscape techniques of transparency, framing, and easy viewing into the overall visual experience.
In conclusion, Chuanjin Sun's HT Zhimu spa is a remarkable blend of modern design and natural elements, offering a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city. The project's success is a testament to the power of design in transforming spaces and creating unique sensory experiences. The spa's design, which won the Silver A' Design Award in 2022, is a testament to the designer's creativity, innovation, and technical expertise.
